We've launched our first range of knitting kits
We've launched the first of our In the Wool Shed Knitting Kit collections.
The Lleyn yarn homewares range includes personality tea and egg cosies which inhabit a fictional village on the Lleyn peninsula. Evan Evans, for example, is named after designer Helen Salisbury’s grandfather, a former sheep farmer in the area, with other characters including Megan the fondant fancy lover, Gavin the lycra clad cycling vicar, Blodwen the champion tap dancer and Myfanwy the private investigator.
Lleyn wool lends itself very well to homewares. A firm, textured yarn it keeps its shape, but would not be the choice for anything worn next to the skin. For those items – such as hats, scarves and gloves -we've chosen a merino and silk blend.
The constantly evolving limited edition range will trial different yarn types and will expand to include bags, boleros and throws – with the key theme that they are all hand dyed with natural products in our dye studio in Warwickshire.
The beautifully packaged kits contain yarn, needles, patterns and all the bits and bobs required to finish the item.
